| Custy's Traditional Music Shop came into being in early September, 1992. It was the brainchild of Frances Custy who saw the need for a niche shop like this to supply the ever-growing interest in quality Traditional Irish music. It's location in a county recognised universally as the epicentre of Traditional Irish music, with household names like Micko Russell, the Kilfenora and Tulla Céili Bands, helped to establish it firmly in the minds of people near and far. Frances' interest in the music was nurtured by her father Frank who has been responsible for encouraging the new generations of musician in Clare over the last 30 years.  | Helping Frances out in the shop is Eoin O'Neill, musician, producer and the driving force behind the Doolin sessions for the last twenty years. He has recorded with the likes of Sharon Shannon, Mary Custy, Davy Spillane, John Williams and Martin Hayes. His in depth knowledge of the traditional music scene has been a major contributing factor in the shop's continued development. Since 1992, the shop's good name has spread worldwide and hence the need for our foray into the World Wide Web. | We stock a varied selection of musical instruments to suit all needs. Our CD and cassette collection is second to none and our book section, reference and educational, is quite extensive. Pride of place in our shop goes to local and independently produced releases, an area which is thankfully thriving in Co.Clare. |
